New Panasonic Lumix compact cameras for spring 2012.

The latest Panasonic camcorders are split in to three types, the professional, budget, and dual cameras.

The enhanced 'professional' type camcorders such as the HC-X900 and HX800 have Leica Dicomar lenses, 3 x CMOS sensors, 'Crystal Engine Pro II' processor, very high resolution LCD's and wide angle lenses. The X900 has the additional advantage of an integrated viewfinder.

The mid range budget camcorders include the HC-V700, HC-V500, HC-V100 and the HC-V10. These vary in both image capture quality 1x MOS sensor (1080p: V700, V500; 1080i: V100; 720p: V10), zoom range (46x: V700; 50x: V500; 42x: V100; 70x : V10) and LCD size.

Dual cameras are designed to produced excellent video capability and excellent still capability, thus called 'Dual Cameras'. The new range encompasses the HX-DC2, HX-WA2, and HX-WA20.

These models will be available this spring, prices yet to be confirmed.
