New Olympus compact cameras for spring 2012.

The new range of compact cameras include the SP-720uz, SZ-14, SH-21, VR-340 and the VG-170.

The SP-720uz is a new addition to their range. A super-zoom bridge type camera with a relatively compact body houses a 26x optical zoom lens and a 14.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. Furthermore the Olympus SP720 features a full HD 1080p movie mode and a 3" 460K LCD. The SH-21 has many of the same features as the SP720 but has a pocketable form and just a 12.5x zoom lens.

The Olympus SZ-14 replaces the popular SZ-10. The upgrades include a high resolution 3" 460K LCD, a 14.1 megapixel sensor and a 24x optical zoom.

The final two models are ultra slim budget compacts, the VR-340 and VG-170. They both house 460K-dot resolution 3" LCDs and 720p movie recording. The Olympus VR340 has a 10x, 24-240mm zoom lens 16.1 megapixels while the VG170 has a 5x optical zoom and 14.1 megapixels.

These models will be available this February / March in various colours.
