More new Olympus cameras, compacts and system cameras.
Olympus announce several new compact digital cameras. They include the SZ-31MR, which has a powerful 24x optical zoom lens, superior quality 920K-dot LCD, full HD video recording, 16 megapixel CMOS sensor. The other premium compact announced is the Olympus SH-25MR. Ultra compact with Built-in GPS, 16 megapixel sensor, high quality touch display and a 12.5 x zoom lens (24-300mm eqv.). The final camera of the trio is the Olympus TG-820 which is a updated model of the popular "rugged" range. Features include a 1020K-pixel LCD, 5x optical zoom lens and 10M waterproofing.
The most anticipated of the new Olympus models is the retro styled weatherproof compact system camera, the OM-D E-M5. The E-M5 is reminicent of the original OM 35mm cameras from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Beautifully designed body houses the latest technology advancements including a new 16 megapixel MOS sensor (Micro four thirds), Trupic V super processor, built-in high resolution electronic viewfinder and an array of custom functionality. It will be available in two guises, Body only or kitted with the Olympus 16-50mm lens.
