| Description: |
The Nikon 16-85mm multi-purpose lens is a new additon to the generation of DX format lenses, specifically designed for digital SLRs. Therefore it is not compatible with 35mm cameras. The equivalent focal length on a 35mm format is 24-128mm. The lens achieves an suberb optical performance due to the aspherical extra dispersion (ED) glass elements used. These elements typically minimize chromatic aberrations, increase image contrast. Also performance is enhanced with the aid of Nikon's super intergrated coating, giving superior colour reproductionand ghosting reduction. The addition of Vibration Reduction II enables sharper pictures while shooting at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than would otherwise be possible. This feature together with the silent wave motor (SWM) employed gives a crisp, fast and smooth operation. Overall the Nikon 16-85mm f3.5-5.6G lens gives even the most discerning photographer great clarity within a compact and lightweight form. |
